Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri's Little Black Dress Initiative

Little Black Dress Initiative (#LBDI) is a week-long awareness and fundraising campaign that harnesses the power of social media to educate the community about one of the focus areas of the JLKCMO and to raise funds to support the League’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities.

In Kansas City, our LBDI will underscore the impact of poverty on women and children.

JLKCMO LBDI Advocates wear the same black dress (or outfit) for five consecutive days to illustrate the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities and access to resources. Throughout the week, they invite dialogue among colleagues, friends and strangers to raise awareness about improving women’s self-sustainability in Kansas City.

Our League LBDI campaign is January 25-29, 2021. Support our LBDI Advocates by donating to the 2021 LBDI Campaign.
